The bill (Reg. No. 2625 refined) aims at improving legal regulation of relations connected with establishment, maintenance, protection and renewal of urban and other green spaces in Ukraine. The bill determines the system of executive authorities and bodies of local self-government that exercise control in this sphere and their powers; legal basis for protection, inventory, record keeping and maintenance of register of green spaces; main requirements in regard to protection of green spaces in the process of urban development and in the course of entrepreneurial activity. The document establishes also requirements pertaining to financing measures on maintenance and renewal of green spaces and establishing control over their protection. The bill stipulates responsibility for violation of legislation on green spaces.
Development of green spaces will be exercised in line with the General Landscape Scheme of towns and other populated areas.
